The rainbow squares project was devised in 1997 as a project which was easy for beginners to do and interesting for experienced embroiderers. Each branch was allocated a colour and members stitched a 4inch square in any technique, but using predominately, the allocated colour. Squares were stitched together in strips and when hung together produce a wonderful rainbow. the squares are regularly exhibited at regional events and at public events where they provide a focus of interest to promote the Embroiderers' Guild. The squares are still added to. The most recent strips have been cream squares from Sevenoaks branch and ongoing squares from the general public. Latest news: East Grinstead branch have completed two strips of Cerulean blue squares. They were on display at our regional event in Canterbury in 2008
