Formed in 1996 with an initial membership of 56 drawn from surrounding districts and parts of West Lancashire, Merseyside and Greater Manchester, Parbold Branch is now well established and retains around 45 members.
Our meetings on the second Saturday of each month, are friendly and informal. A varied programme of speakers and workshops, for beginners and more experienced, with optional extra day long workshops. Visitors are always very welcome.
Membership is open to anyone with an interest in stitching of any kind. Traditional, hand, machine, quilting, paint, print, dye, mixed media etc. You can come and listen to talks, watch demonstrations, take part in a hands-on session or just watch what goes on. You do not have to be an expert or even stitch AND who knows you may be inspired to have a go!!!
There is lots to see at our meetings. Displays of work by members from their latest workshop, hands-on session or summer school class; our Library of books and DVDs and our general information board which displays information on the latest exhibitions in the area.
Our Colour Raffle for this year will be on BIRTH STONES - starting with September - Sapphire.
Twice a year we hold a general raffle in June and December, the prizes for which must be based on Embroidery/Textile items of all kinds. There are usually 3 baskets of goodies for each raffle.
