Chelford and North Cheshire Branch: PROGRAMME

CHELFORD BRANCH - PROGRAMME FOR 2009/10

Welcome to the web page of the Chelford Branch of The Embroiderers' Guild.

The branch was established in 1991 and currently has 70 members who meet on the third Wednesday of the month (not August) at Chelford Village Hall, 7.30 start.

Wed. 16th Sept - Jean Thornton - The Quaker Tapestry and the stories behind the stitches.

Wed. 21st Oct - James Hunting will be talking about his current work at the usual Wednesday evening meeting, followed by a workshop on the Thursday.
PLEASE NOTE James Hunting has cancelled on us with less than a month to go as 'something else has cropped up' even though the booking was made a year in advance. However, we are extremely fortunate that Peggy Fearne has agreed to step into the breach and will be talking about her textile work to date. A lot of her bags are currently in an exhibition but she will bring what she has available.

Wed. 18th Nov - Clyde Olliver - 'Slate and Stitches'

Wed. 16th Dec. - Members Social Evening with activities and Christmas card competition.

Wed. 20th Jan 2010 - Sue Sercombe - 'Who Invented the Sewing Machine?'

Wed. 17th Feb. - Kath Danswan - 'Creative Bowls'

Wed. 17th March - Marge Quinn - 'Fabric Boxes' PLEASE NOTE 30.10.09. this lady has also now cancelled on us as another booking now clashes with ours! I am currently looking for a replacement.

Wed. 21st April - Due to an operation June Gregory has had to cancel coming to talk to us tonight. At short notice I have managed to book Pauline Coddington of Hawk Green Felts so this will be a very interesting talk about her felt making.

Wed. 19th May - Preparations for the Exhibition

Sat. 22nd May - Bi-Annual Exhibition showing members work with items for sale. There will also be a variety of stalls selling fabrics, threads, beads, etc. 10 am till 4 pm in Chelford Village Hall.
