CHELFORD BRANCH - PROGRAMME FOR 2008/09

Welcome to the web page of the Chelford Branch of The Embroiderers' Guild.

The branch was established in 1991 and currently has 70 members who meet on the third Wednesday of the month (not August) at Chelford Village Hall, 7.30 start.

Wed. 17th Sept - Stacey Harvey-brown, from The Loom Room will be giving us a talk on her weaving techniques and recent trip to Dubai.

Wed. 15th Oct - Pam Duxbury will be entertaining us with a Brief History of English Embroidery.

Wed. 19th Nov - Nikki Parmenter will be showing us some of her highly textural embroideries from her recent series The Same Sky.

Wed. 10th Dec. - National Trust speaker Barbara Foster will be entertaining us with her talk 'Puddings, Pomanders & Polish' a behind-the-scenes look at an Edwardian Christmas.

Wed. 21st Jan 2009 - Judy Fairless will be giving us a talk on her patchwork, as seen in Patchwork magazine.

Wed. 18th Feb. - Shirley McKeand will be giving us a talk on Elizabeth's Great Wardrobe

Wed. 18th March - Lydia Solomon will be showing us her beautiful embroidered coral reefs and explaining their construction.

Wed. 22nd April - Jenny Head will be explaining her inspirations for her lovely filigree embroidered collars.

Wed. 20th May - Jim Gaffney will be giving us a demonstration on batik and bringing lots of samples.

Wed. 17th June - Well-known mixed media artist Alison Mercer will be giving us a talk on her latest stitched textiles.

Wed. 15th July - Jennie Rayment, who wrote Tucks, Textures & Pleats, will be giving us a talk and demonstration on her inspirations for the book and also her latest work.
